Hi Christine, I wanted to thank you and your staff this weekend for a great time! I was your new rider, with 1 year of experience on the Honda CBR 600RR this Saturday. I had a great time practicing the drill. I had a question which I forgot to ask regarding purchasing new tires. You pointed out that the tires have the month and date that they were made by the manufacturer. In good conditions (temperature controlled by the seller), what is the maximum age we should be purchasing these tires before they start getting hard? 1 year or less? (2 years for a Sportbike) I would also like to thank Romy. I wasn’t great with all of the drills, but with practice I was getting better. Romy was patient and pointed out what I was doing wrong and helped me by offering suggestions of what I should be doing. One suggestion was, since the time to get to the circle was short, he said, why don’t you start the bike in 2nd gear, so there is one less thing you have to do by the time you get to the turning point. Regarding the drills, tt wasn’t until the figure 8 where the lightswitch came on and it started to click. Romy did a great thing before the drill, he came to everyone and gave them one thing that we should be doing. For me, he said, “ride the bike with authority. Don’t let it take you for a ride, you put the bike where you want to.” That’s all it took. I was hanging off my bike like I never have before and was feeling more relaxed and more comfortable. I didn’t drag knee, but I feel with more practice, and when the time warrants it, I’ll be there. On the ride home, I felt the improvement. I felt more confident on my bike. I’m glad I took this class, the summer will help me practice what I learned. Thanks again, and I’ll see you next year! Harry
